"There is something in October sets the gypsy blood astir, We must rise and follow her; When from every hill of flame, She calls and calls each vagabond by name.."
William Bliss Carman
Inspired by those who wander and wonder looking for something- either within themselves or elsewhere. This collar was inspired by several runway collections.
Rounded freeform slabs of lovely natural amethyst are mixed with a piece of up cycled dyed fox fur*. The stones are strung on high strength nylon coated stainless steel beading wire and then securely stitched to the leather/fur. The bottom end has a brass toggle clasp for ease of wear and removal. It is meant to be worn asymmetrically, as shown. The stones warm with the heat of your body and it will become a comfortable as well as beautiful addition to your jewelry collection. As the stones in this piece are all different shapes, the wearer may need to turn the stones so they will lay flat against each other and the wearer's skin.
Beads are approximately 54x26 mm.
This pattern/color is of course OOAK (one of a kind) but other colors and patterns are available- please email for a specific request and details.
*A special note about fur--The pieces of fur used in this item are recycled from other vintage fur clothing and reworked and in some cases re-cut and dyed. This means that that no animals were used contemporarily (in the past 20-30 years or so) to support the current fur trade. We're making use of what’s already out there and celebrating vintage by keeping this fur out of a landfill.
